Te TÅ«ranga | About the role We are looking for a Water Treatment Technician (Processing). As a Water Treatment Technician (Processing), you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the continuous delivery of clean and safe water to our community. Working with a team of dedicated professionals, your responsibilities go beyond routine tasks to actively shape the future of water treatment in our region. This role is a mix of monitoring, operations, and compliance. There is also a hands-on component where you will work on some complex pieces of mechanical equipment. This is a permanent full-time role, working 40 hours per week between 7:30am and 4:00pm at Oropi Water Treatment Plant. You will work in the Bay of Plenty region only. Travel within the region may be required. The minimum remuneration for this role is $76,169 pa, and the maximum remuneration for this role is $84,632 pa. After an initial training period, you will be required to be on call 1 week in every 5 weeks. The on call roster runs 24 hours, 7 days a week from Monday to Monday. If you are called in to work you will be paid in addition to your base-rate above - a minimum of 2 hours at 150% of your ordinary hourly rate. This role will need to carry out effective Health and Safety (H&) planning and Implementation. This will include ensuring that effective H&S risk management is undertaken for all aspects of the daily operation of the treatment plants and associated systems (rom assessment of risk through to the implantation of controls); that reasonable care is taken for your own H&S including but not limited to your work, PPE, training and professional development; that you communicate with, co-ordinate and proactively manage the H&S of contractors onsite; that you actively engage in developing H&S systems and risk assessments and implementation of risk controls. You will also carry out industry leading Water Safety Planning and Implementation. This will include having a detailed understanding of risk management and how to undertake risk assessments; operating the Water Supply in line with the Water Safety Plan and industry best practice; operating the Water Supply System while actively manging risks in Source Water, Treatment, Process, Compliance, Reticulation, Public health; that you actively engage in the development of, and maintenance of the Water Safety Plan. The role will also require you to ensure the effective operation of the Water Supply System. This means that quality objectives are met; ISO9001 Quality Management System is implemented and engaged with; continuity of supply is maintained; proactive and reactive maintenance is undertaken; (when on-call) to maintain supply and maintain plant compliance within the quality objectives. You will strive for operational efficiency and continual improvement. This means that you will ensure that the Water Treatment System is operated in a manner that is efficient; that efficiency is achieved while maintaining quality objectives; that you actively peruse continuous improvement; that you assist in the management of projects as a site representative for H&S and plant interface (systems are operated with resilience and operational continuity); that stock, spares, supplies and consumables are maintained at a level to ensure continuity of supply; that Water Treatment systems are operated in a way that ensures readiness to internal or external events. You will also ensure that professional behaviours are maintained and relationships are fostered both internally and externally to the team. This is to ensure that miscommunication is minimised. Nga Pukenga | What you'll need to succeed To succeed in this role, you'll bring. Must live or be willing to move to an area within a 30-minute response time of the water treatment plants (Oropi) Proven experience in operations / maintenance of membrane technologies, other relevant complex processes Current Full Drivers Licence At least 3 years' experience containing the following:   -Water Treatment or chemical operations experience; -Knowledge of Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001 standards); -Plant process controller experience; -Working with hazardous substances; -Issuing and writing permits to work for multi-stage processes; -Using SAP in operational environment; -Utilising SCADA systems.
