Would you like to work with NZ's iconic and world-renowned Waitomo Glowworm Caves and help create UNFORGETTABLE holiday experiences for our customers? We are a classic New Zealand success story; an iconic tourism operation based at Waitomo. We are NZ's original tourist destination!We are looking for Fixed Term Part-time Cleaners, who can provide excellent manaakitanga (hospitality) to our manuhiri (visitors).Your main purpose will be to help the cleaning team to keep the resources administered, or owned by Tourism Holdings Limited and Discover Waitomo, in a clean and tidy manner at all times. Your responsibilities will include:Liaise with the Manager daily regarding current tasks and assist in the planning of future tasks.Carry out regular spot checks.Ensure all assigned duties are carried out, and that resources are efficiently utilized.Ensure that the work policies and procedures are adhered to by staff.Maintain and control use of stock, equipment & consumables.Timeously request purchase of consumables, equipment, and materials.Actively promote Health and Safety and report any breach directly to the Manager.Ensure that all staff wear all appropriate PPE.Check all equipment that requires replacement items as needed.Report faulty equipment to the Manager within 12 hours of breakdown.Ensure cleaning standards are met and maintained in all facilities, and report shortcomings/faults to the manager. Key Criteria for our winning candidate:Current driver's licenceFirst Aid qualification (Level 1) an advantageKnowledge of Tikanga and Te Ao Maori an advantageAbility to engage and relate to visitors from diverse cultures.Excellent personal presentation, professionalism, and interpretation skillsFull of energy and a team playerAvailable to work in a 7-day operation.Excellent verbal and written communication skills Physical RequirementsGeneral level of overall fitness Hard work, trust and excellent manaakitanga (hospitality) focus are all part of the package we need.
