This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a global payments revolution, as the VP Engineering or Lead Engineer, all from the comfort of New Zealand.As a company, they’re thinking how best they can scale up quickly, keep trust and safety and the forefront of their customers, and simply provide the best FinTech experiences.About the Role:As the VP of Engineering in this SaaS startup, your role will be a combination of 70% hands-on coding and 30% management tasks, such as working closely with the CTO on the tech strategy, managing the dev team, and engaging with the Product Managers. On the dev side, you’ll be familiar with modern technologies like GraphQL, Typescript, React/React Native, Ruby, and AWS/Kubernetes. This will include building microservices that will power new FinTech products and services. Ideally, you will be a polyglot developer that can choose the right tools for the right job, and evolve their architecture to handle global scale (streaming technologies and high concurrency).About you:The VP of Engineering is a leadership role responsible for executing the product strategy along with the CTO. They are looking for someone who comes with strong leadership skills and has a big vision around the architecture side of things.
Preferably someone who comes from a SaaS environment with banking or payments experience.
