Mo te tunga | About the roleHarbour Hospice is privileged to have an amazing number of volunteers who give their time freely to support our multi-disciplinary teams in providing holistic care to patients, family and whanau. In line with our Harbour Hospice vision and in response to patient, carer and whanau need, we aim to grow the number of programmes our volunteers run and have therefore created the new role of Volunteer Programmes Lead.
As Volunteer Programmes Lead, you'll engage and collaborate closely with clinical teams and relevant stakeholders to establish, grow and maintain patient facing volunteer-led programmes. You will:

Develop, implement and supportnew volunteer-led patient facingprogrammes Educate and support volunteers and deliver Reflective Practice workshops Monitor and evaluate programmes Attend weekly MDT meetings across Hibiscus and North Shore to understand patient/whanau needs Coordinate referrals from clinicians, matching volunteers to the need Drive engagement and uptake with the clinical teams, and ensure ongoing awareness about programmes Work closely with the Volunteer Services team He korero mou| About youWe're seeking a health professional with clinical experience ideally from palliative or an aged care setting. You will have a genuine passion for working with volunteers and will demonstrate experience of developing client/patient focussed psycho-social or educational programmes.
To be a success you will bring:
Experience in adult education/facilitation and reflective practice Demonstrated ability to translate organisational strategy to execute objectives Project coordination and administrative experience Ability to connect and develop rapport with people at all levels and from diverse backgrounds Proficiency in MS Office Suite and database management skills A valid, clean full NZ driver's licence By nature, you are supportive, engaging and compassionate. You will show understanding for what motivates volunteers and take a collaborative approach to relationship building. Your high level of maturity and stability will set you apart in this role.
Ko matou tenei | About usHarbour Hospice is one of the largest hospices in Aotearoa and has been caring for turoro (patients) and their family and whanau for more than 40 years. Every day we care for close to 400 people across the North Shore, Hibiscus Coast and Warkworth/Wellsford regions, supporting them at home, in one of our two inpatient units, or in community programmes offered at each of our three sites. Our specialist services, given free of charge, include medical care, spiritual, cultural, psychological and social support, physiotherapy, occupational and complementary therapy, social activities and more.
