We offer inspiring art experiences that engage and challenge diverse audiences through our extensive collection of New Zealand art and international art, as well as presenting a dynamic programme of temporary exhibitions, public engagement, and outreach activities.We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Visitor Experience Manager to lead our team of Senior Gallery Assistants and Gallery Assistants and our Visitor Experience Coordinator. The successful candidate will also be responsible for providing a high standard of manaakitanga for all visitors to the building and coordinating the operational aspects of the Gallery's visitor experience.This is one of two full-time positions with shared responsibilities across both positions, working Sunday to Thursday (with Fridays and Saturdays off).The ideal candidate should have 7+ years' experience of managing a front of house team and engendering a sense of teamwork and common purpose, especially in a customer driven space.A track record of working through others to deliver a high-quality visitor service in a fast-paced, public-facing environment is also required.Good working knowledge and awareness of tikanga and te ao Maori, with an open-mindedness to constantly be learning more and applying principles to daily operations in support of the Gallery's bicultural vision is also preferred.The salary range within our band for this role is budgeted at $80-90k, dependant on your skill set and experience.Joining the Auckland Council whanau means being part of a dynamic and inclusive community dedicated to making a meaningful impact on our city and its people.With a commitment to professional development and a flexible work environment, we empower our employees to thrive.We have an ever-growing availability of discounts and partnership benefits.
