Underground Electrician

The role

Our Waihi Operation is looking for an experienced Underground Electrician who can carry out preventative maintenance, diagnose and remedy faults and install and maintain underground plant and installations.

This will include but is not limited to training on submersible pumps, high voltage switching, leaky feeder communications systems, tele remote load haul dump operating systems, VSD’s and PLC’s.
Key tasks and responsibilities:
Diagnosing faults or breakdowns
Undertake repairs or component change-outs
Maintain and inspect underground pumping system
Carry out electrical installation work
The successful candidate will have the following:
NZ Electrical practicing licence preferably with a Mining endorsement
At least two years relevant underground mining experience
Effective problem-solving skills, including the ability to analyse a problem and assess the most appropriate solution
An excellent work ethic and the ability to work both as a member of a team, as well as independently
Full manual driver's licence
A high level of personal safety and workmanship
A working at heights certificate
