Truck Driver- Canterbury

Key responsibilities: This position involves duties related to a Truck Driver  but not limited to: Responsible for driving with a Class 4 or Class 5 license Drive long distances to deliver goods to customers. Load and unload scrap metal. Keep accurate records of deliveries. Refuel and keep the clean truck and trailer. Report road accidents to the dispatcher. Follow all New Zealand traffic laws. Inspect the truck and report any issues in a timely manner. Follow accident and incident procedures. Eroad logbook to be completed daily. Report mechanical problems to the dispatcher. Keep all professional driver licenses up to date. Maintain a positive attitude with customers and co-workers Skills, Knowledge and Experience: One year of relevant experience driving heavy vehicles on the open road. Hold a clean and valid Class 5 truck licence or equivalent Competence with driving a truck and trailer. Familiar with Eroad, or similar traveling tracking software. Detail-oriented, strong organization skills and a high degree of accuracy, and working independently. Work well with customers and others throughout the yards. Physically fit with the ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 20kg) Must be able to pass a drug test and criminal checks Location:  The Truck Driver may be required to work in several locations including Canterbury, Otago, Southland, Waikato, Wellington. This role will be a permanent and full-time job. A minimum of 30 hours of work are guaranteed.
