We serve over 75,000 customers and at PowerNet, our people are committed to providing safe, efficient and reliable supply of electricity to businesses and communities across the lower South Island.We are an industry leader and as such, our progression and innovation is at the forefront of our business, where we are committed to learning more about emerging technologies and the impact this will have on our customers, communities and network.In this role, you will study towards your Network Operator Level 4 qualification and be responsible for learning on the job to gain the competencies and understanding of our System Control operations to operate the networks effectively and reliably.You need to have:• an interest in the electricity industry in New Zealand with a commitment to study towards the NZ Certificate in Electricity Supply (Network Operator) Level 4 qualification• Good communication skills with strong English written and oral ability• Analytical and methodical work style• An ability to work under pressure and stay calm• Accurate recording of operating dataOur Trainee System Controller will be highly motivated with a pragmatic, flexible and adaptable approach.
