Are you an enthusiastic people's person and wish to join a dynamic multi-disciplinary team that provides physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech language therapy and social work advocacy to people at North Shore Hospital?
An opportunity has arisen for a therapy assistant to join our team on a full time permanent basis. In this varied role you could work across medical, orthopaedic, surgical or older adult wards, carrying out a range of tasks and activities including delivering and installing equipment in homes.
The successful applicant will work under the supervision of a physiotherapist, occupational therapist or speech language therapist, and key tasks include assisting patients with prescribed therapy programmes, or demonstrating how to use adaptive equipment to maximise independence and safety. Our preferred candidate will have ideally have experience working with older adults and be familiar with working in a hospital setting.
You must be able to demonstrate the following key attributes:
Excellent communication skills, particularly with older people & team members
An adaptable and mature approach
Commitment to on-going learning
Good organisational and self-management skills
Self-motivation, enthusiasm and initiative
Ability to work well in a team
