About the role
We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Technical Writer to join our busy team. Reporting to the Content Manager within our National Communications team, you'll be responsible the translation of content needs for Fire and Emergency and to coordinate, consistent documents, including manuals, user guides, operational procedures, policies, forms and guidelines. This role includes the opportunity to work closely within the communications team and across Fire and Emergency in a wider context, and touches on most areas of the organisation to operational and non-operational personnel.
The ideal applicant will have the following:
A strong ability to translate technical information into accessible, meaningful information for a diverse range of audiences using Plain English
Solid experience as a technical writer, policy writer or similar role involving complex technical information
Expert writing skills focussing on strong interviewing and translation expertise
Intermediate experience in a strategic internal or external relationship management role
Demonstrated strategic approach to problem-solving and needs identification
Demonstrated project management skills across multiple projects and diverse resources
Intermediate process mapping skills

The salary range for this role is $62,000 to $69,000 (pro-rated) gross per annum. We offer a great range of benefits as part of this permanent role:
