As pioneers, our Smart Council team continues to lead the evolution of our digital capabilities to help us deliver an inclusive, sustainable, and creative Poneke. We are fully cloud-based, primarily in AWS.
We are now transforming how we design and deliver services to the people of Poneke through our Tutuki programme, which builds a framework for service delivery that's user-friendly, streamlined and makes sense. Tutuki services are measurable and consistent across all Smart Council channels, making it easier for kaimahi to deliver a first-class experience to our communities.
Vital to this important mahi is our Architecture and Digital Solutions team who provide innovative approaches to key city priorities and challenges. We use digital technology and design digital solutions to help implement these important pieces of work throughout Council.

As the Tech Lead you will play a key role in the strategic direction and technical expertise across development teams, being the link between both the architecture and development teams to ensure development is aligned with our architectural framework and vision. You will be empowered to explore new technologies and advise on opportunities to improve and innovate.
You will work closely with project managers and product owners to manage development work coming through the pipeline. You'll demonstrate the value of new approaches for addressing challenges to business managers and colleagues. A bit about you You are someone keen to help others develop and grow, and someone who builds strong professional relationships. You have a customer focus and people-centric approach in the work you do.As well as your technical skills, you have the innate ability to understand the purpose and intent of pieces of work and be able to translate complex and technical concepts into plain language and present this to various audiences in an engaging way.
You have experience in: DevOps\DevSecOps, ideally GitHub Actions or similar for deploying cloud apps to AWS and Vercel infrastructure;User authentication and authorisation, ideally backed by AWS CognitoInfrastructure as code, ideally Pulumi IaC for AWS resourcesUnit-, integration-, and end-to-end test automation, ideally using Jest and PlaywrightApplication DesignApplications integration using APIsYou are comfortable with ambiguity and confident to act on opportunities you find. You are someone who can see the big picture and translate this into action, bringing others along with you. You work well in cross-functional teams and are excited about learning new subject areas.
