Team Leader, Wakatipu Libraries

.The Wakatipu Libraries Team Leader is responsible for the front-line delivery of information and lending services, staff supervision and facility management at Queenstown Library and its satellite Libraries at Arrowtown, Glenorchy and Kingston. The Team Leader will provide leadership for the Wakatipu team to deliver high quality library services that exceed customer expectations to the Wakatipu community. In addition, this role actively contributes to ensuring that district wide Library operations are collaborative and aligned with the Queenstown Lakes District Council Library Strategy 2020-2030.
The successful candidate will have:
At a minimum, the successful candidate will hold a Diploma qualification in a relevant or related discipline
Experience in the library profession and team management
Collaborative leader with demonstrated initiative
Excellent relationship building and interpersonal skills
Financial management experience
Knowledge and understanding of library management processes and systems
Knowledge and understanding of standard computer applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
Creative and critical thinking capabilities
Well-developed conceptual, analytical and problem solving skills
A commitment to Te Reo and Tikanga Maori
Accurate and with a high level of attention to detail
Flexibility in availability for work including evenings and weekends, and at other branch libraries within the Queenstown Lakes Library district
Physical fitness, able to meet the demands of the job
Personal commitment to the role of public libraries and literacy
Personal interest in materials provided by the library i.e. books, literature, graphic novels, film, magazines etc.
