Mo te turanga: About the role A relocation provides a great opportunity for you to be part of a unique and special environment. Our Sales and Service Team Leader leads and guides a friendly committed team who provide consistent, responsive and quality service for all our visitors. Based at the Zoo's main entrance, our dedicated team are the first point of contact for visitors. This role is accountable for providing leadership, coaching, and operational support and is fully engaged with daily operational activities, which means you'll be on your feet a lot. This role also works collaboratively with the Venues Lead, and naturally the Sales and Service Manager, with a 2IC function. As we are a seven day a week operation, the Team Leader is required to work at least one weekend day. Our current options are Tuesday to Saturday; Wednesday to Sunday; or Sunday to Thursday. Proven experience leading others – developing a collaborative team environment where your team thrive, can work independently and as part of the team. Recognised for your customer service approach. You can get on with the job – you are known for your effective planning and organising skills, while you also understand when to reach out for support and guidance. You can think end to end - always looking for the best way of doing things. Well-developed people skills with the ability to communicate effectively with staff and build trust with all other colleagues wherever they work. Sales and retail experience. A collaborative, friendly and varied place to work. Yearly allocation of Zoo passes and Close Encounters that can be shared with family and friends. Five days Conservation Leave per year of employment to work on a conservation project. Sick leave entitlement (15 days) from the start of employment. Free parking An extra accrued week of annual leave after five years continuous service. The ability to walk around and enjoy the Zoo every day.
