Rare opportunity to lead a front-line customer service team at our librariesFull-time, permanent role, based in our central cluster of librariesContribute to the smooth transition to the new Te Matapihi libraryKia mahi ngatahi mo Poneke mo tona apopo | Working together for Wellington's futureWe are looking for a Team Leader to join our Libraries and Community Spaces network. The position works closely with the other team leaders in the Te Ropu Raranga cluster and is based in the Te Awe (Brandon Street) library as part of a cluster including Arapaki, Brooklyn and Wadestown libraries, and the Wadestown Community Centre. This is a permanent full-time role, worked Monday to Friday however the team you will lead will work across a 7 day roster.This is an exciting time to be working in the Te Ropu Raranga cluster with the move into Te Matapihi occurring over the next 12-18 months. With other Libraries managers, you will play a key role in establishing operational services in the refurbished Central Library including helping staff transition from the central city pop-up libraries to Te Matapihi.About the roleAlongside the other cluster Team Leaders, you will be responsible or leading and coordinating day-to-day frontline customer services and operations. This means leading and supporting team members to anticipate customer needs and work together to problem solve and be creative, agile, and resilient. This role focuses on team leadership, individual and site management, staff coordination, training and development as well as portfolio and project work to support the wider network.We are looking to appoint between $94,342 and $105,440 per annum, for this role, depending on relevant skills and experience.About youA tertiary qualification and experience working in libraries or related sectors is essential to manage the day-to-day operations of the library. A high level of technology literacy is required and ideally you will be familiar with the specific technology and systems used in libraries. You will need demonstrated leadership ability, effective communication skills and a customer service focus. The position requires the ability to work collaboratively internally and externally, with an outward-oriented customer and community focus.
