We have a permanent, full-time opportunity available to join our Community and Whanau Wellbeing team as aTeam Leader - Kauika Pumau. As a community facing team working mainly with and for whanau Maori, the Kauika Pumau team comprises Safe Sleep, Tuai Kopu - Wahine Hapu Wellbeing programme , Mate Taiha – Tane Maori with Gout and Oranga Tonutanga bowel screening outreach programmes. The Team Leader will be responsible for the day to day leadership, operational management and planning for the Kauika Pumau team in order to deliver high quality, culturally responsive and equitable services to Maori.
Relevant tertiary qualification or 10-15 years of comparable work experiencExperience in community and stakeholder engagementRole model, with high degree of maturity, stability and self-confidencePrevious experience in staff managementExperience in leading or being part of delivering Maori targeted programmes.Experience in developing and facilitating training and educationExperience developing new processes and proceduresMonitoring programme performance and outcomesA personal commitment to and evidence of on-going professional development and continuous quality improvement.A commitment to being a good Te Tiriti partner in all your actions. This includes an understanding of the significance of and obligations under Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and the ability to apply Te Tiriti principles in a meaningful way in this role
Competency with te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
