The role
We're excited to extend an opportunity for a Distribution or Transmission Leader with civil and electrical project experience to join our Transmission team in Auckland. We're looking for a qualified and motivated Team Leader to join our Operations team and oversee a significant civil and electrical construction project. In this role, you'll lead a team, including subcontractors, to ensure safe, efficient, and effective project delivery. You'll also provide technical support, scoping, and planning assistance as needed. Reporting to the Project Supervisor, you'll prioritize safety, be hands on, assist with work plans, and ensure thorough completion of relevant field paperwork. 
Being the Team Leader, you will also be responsible for:
- Complete WTC competency assessments as required
- Conduct audits and quality checks
- Ensure plant and equipment compliance and suitability
- Generate necessary reports
- Collaborate on work/job objectives with supervisors
- Effectively scope jobs and identify influencing factors
- Direct resources to achieve objectives efficiently
- Ensure accurate job scoping and pricing
- Allocate resources appropriately
- Provide guidance on technical matters
- Explore cost-saving and improvement ideas
- Communicate financials effectively to the team

Our Ideal candidate
You will be a Team Leader with Distribution or Transmission project experience or an experienced foreperson looking to advance, you should bring a track record of building successful teams. Your ability to organize and manage workloads, ensuring positive outcomes without compromising health and safety, is crucial. 

Additionally, possessing the following would be beneficial:
- Knowledge and experience in LV, HV and EHV Distribution/Transmission 
- Minimum 5 years of work experience as a Team Leader would be preferred
- Relevant trade qualifications and Current practising licences as required
- Knowledge of relevant Codes of Practice, Policies, Standards, Work Procedures, Legislative requirements and the relevant Parts of the Safe Manual – Electricity Industry (SE-MI)
- Current Workplace Competency (WTC)'s as required by the role
- Full clean Class 1 driver's licence
- Critical thinking and contemplative skills with the ability to solve problems and make decisions
- Capability to efficiently manage and coordinate both personal and team workloads to attain desired outcomes
- Ability to pro-actively promote a safety culture in line with legislation and company procedures
- Strong interpersonal skills and experience working in a multi-cultural environment
- A strategic thinker with the ability to solve problems and make decisions
- Ability to motivate and influence others while demonstrating integrity and trust
