Team Leader Health Promotion & Smokefree at Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand Te Matau a Maui Hawke's Bay, Hawkes Bay Success is not the work of one, but the work of many. Permanent, Full-time
80 hours per fortnight (1.0 FTE)
The National Public Health Service (NPHS) within Health New Zealand, work towards Pae Ora (healthy futures) for all by engaging with the wider determinants that impact people's health, focusing on oranga/wellbeing, prevention, protection, and population-level intervention. We are connected across boundaries to deliver public health services that are nationally planned, regionally delivered and locally tailored.
We have a permanent, full-time opportunity available to join our Community and Whanau Wellbeing team as aTeam Leader – Health Promotion & Smokefree.The Team Leader will be responsible for the day-to-day leadership, operational management and planning for the team in order to deliver high quality, culturally responsive and equitable smokefree services to Maori and other priority communities. In addition, the Team Leader will manage population health improvement and equity projects/programmes and strategies including; policy, planning and health promotion leadership to support health improvement and achieve health equity in Hawke's Bay.
Relevant tertiary qualificationExtensive experience in health (ideally 5-10 years plus)Extensive experience in policy or planningLeadership experience in community engagement and co-designExperience in community and stakeholder engagementRole model, with high degree of maturity, stability and self-confidencePrevious experience in staff managementExperience in leading or being part of delivering Maori targeted programmes.Experience in developing and facilitating training and educationExperience developing new processes and proceduresMonitoring programme performance and outcomesA personal commitment to and evidence of on-going professional development and continuous quality improvement.A commitment to being a good Te Tiriti partner in all your actions. This includes an understanding of the significance of and obligations under Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and the ability to apply Te Tiriti principles in a meaningful way in this roleCompetency with te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growthLocated in the sunny Hawkes Bay we live in pure paradise.
