Team Leader – Exhibitions and Collections Organisation Christchurch Art Gallery Te Puna o Waiwhetu is Otautahi Christchurch's public art gallery in the heart of the city, and home to one of Aotearoa's most important public art collections. This is a rare opportunity to join an experienced, dedicated and hardworking team in the largest art institution in Te Waipounamu. We are seeking an outstanding individual to fill the pivotal role of Team Leader for the Exhibitions and Collections Team. Reporting to the Audience and Programmes Manager, this exciting position will: Lead the Exhibitions and Collections Team, an exceptional group of people who are critical to the ongoing success of the gallery, working in exhibition design and installation, registration and collection management, conservation and our research library and archive; Lead the planning, organisation and delivery of all aspects of exhibition and collection preparation, registration, transportation, collection management, installation and de-installation; Manage the Exhibitions and Collections Team budget; and Ensure that the Exhibitions and Collections Team is represented across, and works closely with, all other gallery teams including Projects, Curatorial, Learning and Audience Engagement and Visitor Services. Our ideal applicant will have: Tertiary qualification in a relevant field, or relevant experience to demonstrate an equivalent level of knowledge; Minimum of five years' experience in an art gallery, museum or similar cultural organisation, with an emphasis on collection management and exhibition planning; Experience of leadership, managing people and performance; Experience of leading a team containing multiple specialist areas; and Demonstrable ability to budget, plan, manage and communicate complex workflows with input from multiple disciplines.
