About the role and about you By supporting the wider blood service team, the primary objective of this position is to lead the Donor Relations team in Christchurch / Dunedin to achieve blood collection requirements. The Team Leader is responsible for ensuring our Donor base is sufficient to meet the clinical demands for blood and blood products in the region. Not only is it important to build and maintain our vital volunteer Blood Donor database, but they will be pivotal in raising the profile of NZBS in the business community and ensuring local collection targets are met. The need to increase the donor base as collection requirements for the Southern Region are increasing by in excess of 8% year on year.
As the Donor Relations Team lead you will lead and coach a dedicated team ensuring all activities are carried out to meet collection requirements. This includes the territory management, coordination of blood drives, managing Team Red accounts and running promotional events to recruit new donors and collaboratively work with internal teams to maximise donor retention. The role has a strong community and corporate focus, hence it is essential that you have networking skills, confidence and credibility to coach and lead the team to present to wide-ranging audiences, such as schools through to corporate businesses.
Your success in this role will depend on your extensive experience in staff management, territory management, planning and your proven record in sales and customer retention. You will be a people person with experience in developing a high performing team, solution focused, goal oriented and a competent manager. You can communicate performance expectations clearly as well as acknowledge success and effort.
The Team Leader is responsible for meeting collection targets and promoting blood donation in the Southern region. We have three donor centres - Christchurch (Lester Lane and Tuam Street), Dunedin along with a Whole Blood Mobile drive within the region (South Island wide).
