Team Leader - Development Engineering

Interesting challenges associated with growth and sustainable development Earthworks, Coastal erosion, Subdivisions and more Come and join the second largest Unitary Authority in NZ Situated within the Resource Consents area, and working closely, hot desking with the Engineering team, Tasman District Council is seeking their next Team Leader to advance Development Engineering in the district.
About you: We are seeking a Team Leader, ideally with significant engineering experience and knowledge of local authority processes to coordinate and influence, the processing of district land use consents. You'll be a skilled communicator, at ease writing professional reports and presenting information to Council, consent hearings, management, and the public. On top of this you'll have proven leadership skills enabling you to motivate, mentor and manage your team of Development Engineers.
What we are looking for: To excel in the role, you will have a relevant tertiary qualification, preferably BE (Civil or similar) Engineer with CMENZ, or CPEng with a minimum of five years relevant post grad experience. You'll also have:
Design and construction experience in subdivision development work or public sector infrastructure engineering, Proven skills in leadership and staff development, with a strong commitment to teamwork, Financial understanding of accounting for infrastructure assets, An understanding of RMA consenting processes and; Be confident to present evidence and information to a wide range of stakeholders, including at quasi-judicial hearings and other meetings.
