Team Lead

Team Lead for MetServices Insights Platform (B2B Product) MetService keeps people informed, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, with a global reputation for connecting our science and technology to help our customers and Aotearoa New Zealand navigate the impacts of increasingly severe weather. Our changing climate is increasing impacts from weather, and this changes the way communities need to receive their weather information.  Our digital products span web-based decision support tools, advanced television media graphics, as well as data and integration platforms used by recognised brands in New Zealand and Internationally.  You will be responsible for the leadership, design, standards, development, integration, and ongoing operation of the MetService's Insights Platform. This role plays a key interface between product and development teams and requires sound decision making in prioritisation of product demands and engineering lifecycle management to ensure we have a sustainable technical platform. Key responsibilities include: Providing technical leadership for technology usages and deployment methodologies (i.e you will also need to be part of the team developing solutions) Aligning front-end tools, technology stacks, applications development to a common blueprint. Leading both front and back-end modernisation, and rationalisation efforts at MetService. You are an excellent communicator. Have prior experience leading a team of developers and providing technical leadership Have a high level of expertise with front end technologies, including: Typescript, React, MapboxGL, SVG, Esbuild, Chromatic, Websockets and JWT auth Have a high level of expertise with back end technologies including: AWS Lambda, AWS Dynamodb, AWS SQS, Websockets, Azure App Service, Azure, Functions, Azure Cosmosdb and JWT auth Can translate business requirements into technical deliverables equally explain complex technical issues or requirements in business or lay terms Have experience / or familiar with establishing development best practices Can rationalisie and standardising tools, technologies, and approaches and mentoring team members to adopt best-practices Etahi korero hai awhina I a koe - Why you should join our team We enjoy achieving outcomes that genuinely help people, we appreciate creativity, and we recognise everyone's unique skills and qualities.
