Our core values for students, teaching and organisational staff alike are centred around aroha, tika and pono or integrity, kindness and effort.This roleWe're looking for someone to deliver the best possible Web Developer Bootcamp for students and teachers, while also helping to grow our business as a key member of our senior leadership team.Key responsibilitiesDeliver the best possible developer bootcamp for students. We offer a premium course that invests a lot in learners who want a career in coding. Almost all of our students join us because they know someone who loved the course. We want to keep that standard high, and keep learning how we can do ever better for our students.Make this an even better place for teachers. Most of our teachers are Dev Academy graduates that loved the programme and come back to us to teach. We are a progressive organisation that minimises hierarchy, and we put deep care into every human that works here. We want to keep the things that make this a great place to teach, and keep learning how we can support the development and experience of our incredible teachers.Iterate the design of our bootcamp for sustainable impact and growth. While we've been growing for ten years now, we still have a lot to learn about how we continue to deliver high quality tech education at ever higher volumes. As we grow, we also need to find ways to design efficiencies into our model that help us cater to ever-shifting demand across our different campuses. This includes supporting development of new programmes that are underrepresented in tech, particularly Maori, women, and people in the regions.What we need is:At least 5 years' experience developing with web technologies (HTML, CSS and JavaScript)At least 3 years' experience managing direct reportsExperience and enthusiasm for teaching codingExperience managing delivery of a product or service or teamIt would be great, but not necessary, for you to have:Experience hiring, managing and supporting developers or teachersExperience designing, delivering or supporting formal courses or trainingExperience working in cross-functional leadership teamsExperience leading leading in organisations similar to Dev AcademyYou might fit the bill if you are:You love teaching and learningYou are comfortable with both managing and doingYou have a strong sense of personal accountability for "making it all work"You are adaptable, kind, empathetic, with deep integrityYou are able to embed and promote equality and diversity through your actions and wordsPossessing a natural authority and ability to forge excellent relationships with internal and external stakeholdersYou are into Dev Academy Aotearoa's social mission of a better, kinder, more diverse tech sector through innovative, human, inclusive tech educationInterest or experience with te ao Maori, tikanga Maori, te reo Maori and Te Tiriti o Waitangi is very welcomeA NZ citizen or possess a work permit.Other information you should knowThis role is anywhere from 32 to 40 hours per week. We're a whanau-friendly workplace and tamariki are welcome in our campuses.
