Job Description Teacher AideFixed-Term (April – December 2024) 8 hours per week Based in Christchurch Mo tenei turanga mahi | About this position As a Teacher Aideyou'll work with an akonga (student) in their home based in Christchurch. You'll play a vital part of a professional team who work together to provide our akonga with support in relation to their individualised learning programme. This position is supporting an akonga at their ARA Hospitality Course on a Monday and Tuesday morning. This position is during school term time only. To be considered for this role you must have the right to reside or work in New Zealand. Ko wai matou | About Us Te Aho o Te Kura Pounamu (Te Kura) is New Zealand's largest school with a roll of up to 24,000 akonga (students) at any point of time. We provide personalised and authentic learning programmes through distance education from early childhood to NCEA Level 3, including to young adult and adult learners. Our akonga are at the centre of all we do. Our vision is to enable our akonga to achieve their educational and personal goals, empowering them to become engaged and contributing members of their communities. Ko koe tenei | About you Your excellent communication and relationship management skills will see you foster strong relationships with our akonga, their whanau and the Te Kura kaiako and the teams working with our akonga on their individualised learning journey. We are looking for someone who is keen to bring their energy to engage with our akonga to support their learning needs. You'll be someone who is supportive, well-organised, and flexible.
