The Snowy River project is progressing well with the site transitioning from a resource definition and pre-feasibility study phase into preparations for first production including the construction of a processing facility with the expected completion in first gold poured in 2025.About the role:Due to the changing needs of the site, Snowy River Mine has an opportunity for a Sustainability Manager to work within the current team of approx. 60 employees based onsite, near Reefton on the West Coast. The site team is expected to increase to approx. 140 once in production. The Sustainability Manager will be responsible for the coordination of the Sustainability function, including Health, Safety, Environment & Community (HSEC) as well as government relations. The Sustainability Manager will report to the site General Manager and work closely with the Vice President – Sustainability, based in Sydney Head Office. This role will mentor the current Sustainability Advisor. There will be expected to travel regionally regularly to attend stakeholder engagements & other duties.About you:You will provide strategic advice and support on matters relating to safety, sustainability and stakeholder relations to the site and corporate leadership teams.You will ensure organisational compliance with requirements with resource consents, government permit conditions and company policy.You will have the ability to coordinate the management of the HSEC management system and risk register and ensure inspections and assurance audits are completed.You will engage with Government agencies, stakeholders, community members, neighbours and key partners in consultation with the management team while also ensuring government reporting obligations are met in accordance with regulations and permit conditions.Coordinate the management of climate change related risk and greenhouse gas emission offset programs and assist in the development of annual sustainability report and associated ESG materials.You will have the ability to develop strong working relationships across the site and with contract partners.Ideally, you would have 5 years' experience leading or coordinating the HSEC function in the resource or industrial sector with exceptional communication skills and extensive experience in stakeholder relations.You would hold tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline (Environment, HSEC, ESG, resource management) with broad and diverse experience.Current Drivers Licence with clean record.What we offer:This site-based role will be based on a 5/2 weekday roster with options for flexibility.Private health insurance with discounts for family membersEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Bus transport for GreymouthShort term accommodation assistance and relocation packageThe process:As part of the recruitment process, we will conduct various checks to determine the suitability of the candidate for the role including a police/criminal background check, preemployment medical screening including drug and alcohol testing and reference checking.
