Maternity leave cover (37.5 hours)Are you proactive and experienced in working with Children and their Family/Whanau?We are seeking someone to support children and families/whanau by assisting them to improve the health, education and social outcomes for their children/Tamariki especially around issues of mental health and addiction. The right person would thrive on challenges, have the ability to think outside the square, be fun, interactive and relatable for children of all ages.As the Support Zone Co-Ordinator, you would be responsible for:Planning and delivering programmes and support groups for children and youth (5-17yrs old) with a parent or loved one experiencing mental illness and/or an addiction.Providing 1:1 support for children and youth in a variety of settings, to emotionally support, advocate and empower.Assessing, educating and supporting children and youth around mental illness and addiction using appropriate tools, play, therapies, and education in a secure and safe environment.Referring on to other agencies/professionals if children/youth need more in-depth therapeutic support, networking to create strong relationships in the community.Communicating with a variety of organisations, to ensure whanau access all the supports available to them.Supporting youth to 'lead' and support others by developing Peer Leader opportunitiesAttending training and meetings appropriate to this role.Ensuring services delivered are aligned to the Vulnerable Children's Act 2014 and our policies.Ensuring all activities are well documented and any identified risks are managed.Demonstrating services delivered are aligned to our values.Applicants should be or have:Passionate about working with children and whanau for the best outcome for all.Excellent with written and oral communicationProficient in Microsoft Office and Client Management SystemsWell-presented and a quick learner.An understanding of Te Reo and tikanga.A Level 4 NZ Certificate in Health & Wellbeing (Mental Health & Addiction Support) or equivalent is required or be willing to complete a health qualification.Work well within a multi-disciplinary team as well as independently.A current and clean full driver license and have legal entitlement to work in NZ.Application Process:The position offers a 6-month maternity leave contract with the possibility to extend to permanent full-time.
