Details of the offer

Our campers are just like regular kids; they've experienced their own unique cancer journey, but they still want to run around with their friends, make a mess and have second-helpings of dessert (you know, kid stuff!). You'll be acting as a big brother/big sister to a camper for the duration of camp, providing supervision and support during our week of action-packed activities! You'll be in charge of: Ensuring your camper is safe, happy and having fun. Making sure that they make it to breakfast on time, have brushed their teeth and that their backpack is packed according to daily instructions. Providing encouragement to your camper to make new friends and try new things! We'll take care of: The camp program! Sit back and let us take the lead; you might just find yourself in a hot air balloon, in the passenger seat of a dune buggy or in charge of dowsing the camp manager in paint during a colour run. Our campers healthcare. We have trained nurses on every camp who know the ins and outs of what each camper needs. Keeping you well fed. Our kitchen team are second to none, and no one ever goes hungry! Requirements: You MUST: Be 18 years or older Enjoy working with children Be responsible, trustworthy and willing to put others needs ahead of your own Be willing to give up your phone and be unplugged for a week (and enjoy the camp bubble!) Bring a positive, empathetic and fun-loving attitude! Attend a Training day. You'll spend the day with fellow companions, learning about who we are, what we do, what life at camp looks like and any important information to make sure our kids have a fantastic week! Our next training day is May 18th and 19th, 2024! If you apply for this role, you will be sent a confirmation email containing a link to register your interest on our website! A Police background check is required for this role. Time commitment: To join us at camp, you MUST attend one of our annual trainings (either a weekend or single day). Summer Camp is held over a week (5.5 - 6 days) in January, and we also host a mini winter camp over a weekend (2.5-3 days), usually in August/September.
