The purpose of this role is to liaise with AUS, APAC and US/International Studio PR Teams to understand key publicity strategies across the full Disney Studios’ portfolio, to then work effectively with the NZ Studio Marketing Team to develop and implement market leading PR campaigns across the Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Fox and LucasFilm release schedule.
Responsibilities :
Publicity:
Develop local PR campaigns to support overarching marketing objectives for film release campaigns

Manage day-to-day external PR agency and support Studio Marketing Managers with senior agency stakeholder management

Develop and nurture strong relationships with key media and influencers with the aim of securing editorial coverage for film releases
End-to-end management of media screenings, premieres and events; including briefing external agencies, bookings with exhibitors, managing guest lists and logging media coverage
Liaising with key media, as directed by the Studio Marketing Teams, to secure their participation at international junkets, premieres, country days and set visits
Provide media with publicity materials and resources to support any editorial coverage secured
Work with external agencies to manage and implement any social influencer campaigns or PR drops to media
Develop and distribute press releases, press kits, media alerts, and eDMs, as required

Placement of generic publicity materials and merchandise prizing, as required
Provide support for general media enquiries, as required

International Publicity:Forge strong relationships with AUS, APAC and US/International Studio PR Teams to influence and secure NZ media involvement in international junkets, premieres, set visits and country days

Coordinate all relevant arrangements for participating media e.g. travel itineraries, phone interview details etc.
Assist the AUS and APAC Studio PR Teams; and AU Corporate Communications Team with general local PR needs, as required

Operational:
Manage the online Digital Ticketing system for screenings and events
Manage and adhere to PR budgets as set by the Studio Marketing Managers; manage all cost related admin, including raising purchase orders and processing invoices
Manage media database and update as required
Ensure Image.Net local account is updated with imagery and publicity stills for media use
Assist external PR agency with logging weekly media coverage clippings

Basic Qualifications :
A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a PR environment

Film industry experience (or other related industry e.g. media / entertainment)
Demonstrated experience in writing press releases

Must have a strong understanding of the NZ media landscape; already established relationships with key media desirable
Experience with social media platforms
Event management experience

Budget management experience
Intermediate to Advanced level of all Microsoft applications

Preferred Qualifications:
Passion for film and film industry

Strong written and verbal communication skills
Collaborative stakeholder engagement/relationship skills
Great negotiating skills
High standard of presentation skills

Flexibility and adaptability – ability to multi-task in a team environment with ever-changing deadlines and support requirements
Pro-active with a strong work ethic
Open attitude with a desire to seek input and feedback

Required Education :
Tertiary/degree qualification in Marketing/Journalism Media/Media Communications
