About the role Student Success seek an enthusiastic, proactive and committed team player to join our team in the provision of a professional, targeted and culturally appropriate service to all akonga (learners). Based at our Central Campus in Cromwell you will have a key role in positively contributing to maintaining a learning environment that supports learner's success through well-being, pastoral care, and academic, personal and social needs. A key part of the role is to liaise internally with academic programme kaimahi (staff), to enhance learner retention and success, as well as with external organisations to further support all learners, therefore the ability to relate well to a diverse range of people is vital.Ko wai koe | About youYou will have rich experience working with youth and the skills and confidence to provide meaningful support to them across the diversity of their experiences. An ability to relate to, build and maintain relationships with akonga (learners), while understanding their academic and personal needs is essential. A proven ability to engage quickly, build rapport with others, including the wider community, is desired, as is the ability to nurture and maintain professional relationships with external agencies who might also support our learners. Applicants must hold a relevant tertiary qualification and be experienced in an academic learning support / pastoral care or professional services role previously.
