Strategic Communications Manager

Job DescriptionSport New Zealand Ihi Aotearoa is the Government agency that keeps our play, active recreation and sport system thriving. Reporting to the Head of Marketing and Communications, a rare opportunity has arisen for an experienced communications professional to join the team as Strategic Communications Manager. The successful candidate will lead the creation of internal and external communications strategies and plans aligned to the organisation's core vision, to see Every Body Active in Aotearoa New Zealand. The leadership role guides a team of five senior advisors and is tasked with ensuring communications projects are well planned and delivered on time. A combination of organisational skills, team leadership, stakeholder management, written and oral communications skills and creativity will be needed to be successful in this position. Government experience would be useful but is not essential. Knowledge of, and commitment to, the Treaty of Waitangi is a must in our organisation.
