Te whiwhinga mahi The OpportunityContract : Permanent, Part time (0.75FTE)Salary : Allied, Public Health & Technical MECA, Allied, Public Health & Technical Pay Scale ($70,842 - $100,466 )Location : Gisborne Hospital, Child Development ServiceThis position exists to provide Speech Language Therapy as part of the transdisciplinary Child Development Service.The key requirements will be the provision of assessment and the ongoing management of dysphagia and feeding difficulties for children with disabilities and diagnostic assessments of children with communication, sensory and behavioural concerns.The ideal candidate will : · Have a Degree in Speech-Language Therapy, or equivalent that is recognised by NZSTA· Membership of the NZ Speech Language Therapy Association (NZSTA) desirable· Hold a current driver's license· Have some experience in working with children with dysphagia and feeding difficulties· Experience in assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of disabled children within a multidisciplinary environment, including those children with autistic spectrum disorder· Have effective oral and personal communication skills· Have good personal skills to relate well to clients including young children, adolescents and parents· Be able to work as a member of a transdisciplinary team· Ability to work autonomously and under pressureOur Tairawhiti Way of Working involves us working collectively across agencies to enable whanau to flourish.There is a shift to interdisciplinary / transdisciplinary approach, which identifies needs of whanau and the best people to provide support requesting the right support at the right time in the right place.The workforce shares information, works flexibly and collectively to reduce barriers and provide the support that the whanau needs and requests.The transdisciplinary approach reduces barriers and improves access for whanau as teams walk beside people till they get what they need.All candidates to this role will be subject to a Police Screen.Position Description Speech Language TherapistFor further information about this role, please contact Child Development Service Team Leader at ****** or ****** wai matou Our OrganisationSituated on the eastern coast of New Zealand's North Island, Gisborne Tairawhiti The light shines on the water is the first city in the world to see the rising sun of the new day.Our region offers vast golden sand beaches, bush clad mountains, lush farmlands, with significant historical landmarks, natural wonders and a deep connection to Maori culture.We enjoy a pleasant climate, short commutes and a relaxed approach that creates a work-life offering that is enviable to most that are not yet here.Our lifestyle is about time.
