Critical Care Outreach Service
North Shore Hospital
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Critical Care Outreach Team (CCOT) as a Specialty Nurse.
The Critical Care Outreach Service (CCOS) is a nurse-led service that supports ward nurses and doctors who are caring for acutely ill in-patients across both North Shore and Waitakere Hospital sites within the Waitemata District Health Board. As a Specialty Nurse, you will provide senior clinical and professional support to all clinical areas and in collaboration with medical and nursing teams, you will provide early assessment, intervention and referral to ensure prompt and timely care for the acutely unwell or deteriorating patients outside of the intensive care / high dependency unit.
To undertake the role of Speciality Nurse in the Critical Care Outreach Team, you would need to have a minimum of 3 years of Critical Care experience or at least 5 years' experience in ED/CCU, be recognized as an experienced nurse in the specialty by holding a RN Level 4 or Senior Nurse portfolio. In addition, you would have completed (or working towards) a Postgraduate Diploma in Intensive/Critical Care Nursing or other equivalent specialized qualification e.g. Emergency Nursing and have evidence of recent teaching. It would be advantageous if you have had any previous experience in similar teams (Outreach / PAR).
Applications are invited from enthusiastic, motivated individuals who have excellent teamwork, communication and leadership skills. You will have advanced assessment skills, be interested in teaching and enjoy the challenge of your own development as a nurse, as well as developing others.
The Critical Care Outreach Team will be extending their service to cover 24/7 at North Shore Hospital in early 2019 and will be providing a mixed 8 and 12 hour roster for all staff.
