All profits go back to the community of Invercargill, we also provide employment to approximately 670 people.Role overviewWe are seeking an experienced and passionate Sous Chef to join our team as a Sous Chef, you will work closely with our Head Chef to ensure the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency. You will play a key role in menu development, food preparation, staff management, and kitchen operations. The ideal candidate should be creative, organised, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities: Assist the Head Chef in menu planning and execution. Oversee food preparation and ensure adherence to recipes and quality standards. Supervise kitchen staff and provide training and guidance as needed. Maintain inventory levels and order supplies as necessary. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new dishes and specials. Manage food costs and minimise waste. Uphold cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen. Assist in rostering and managing kitchen staff shifts. Requirements: Proven experience as a Sous Chef or senior chef in a high-volume restaurant. Strong leadership and communication skills. Excellent time management and organisational abilities. Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations. Creative flair and passion for food.
