As a Software Engineer (Java) within our critical Capital Markets department, you'll play a pivotal role in the entire software development lifecycle. Design, code, and test applications with a focus on adherence to standards, providing estimates for routine tasks, and troubleshooting defects. Develop a deep understanding of user requirements and product functionalities while fostering effective communication through documentation. The responsibilities will include: As a Software Engineer, you will contribute across the entire software development lifecycle: Development and Testing: Design, code, test, and install applications, ensuring adherence to standards. Provide estimates for routine tasks and troubleshoot defects. Build unit tests to maintain code quality. Product Knowledge and Communication: Understand user requirements and product functionalities. Develop expertise in relevant application modules. Document systems and programs for effective communication. What are we ideally looking for in a successful candidate? 2+ years of experience in Programming and Applications Design, coupled with tertiary qualifications in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent experience. Developed skills in one or more of the major programming languages relevant to the role: Java, PostgreSQL, XML Understanding of architecture and design standards Demonstrated skills in personal work organization and time management. Ability to communicate effectively Ability to work well within a team environment Understanding of the software development lifecycle Experience in an Agile environment and the ability to learn, change and adapt is desirable.
