Reporting to an inspiring Area Manager, as Operations Manager you'll be responsible for the operational execution and delivery of the Rotorua Lakes Council general waste and recycling contracts. The key areas of this role focus on health & safety, people leadership / management, driving operational excellence to meet contract KPIs, and stakeholder engagement. Typical activities will include: Managing operations in line with legislative & company HR and H&S policies Managing rosters & contract resources Supervising, planning & coordinating kerbside collections Coordinating the logistics for outgoing materials Coordinating / managing fleet maintenance Achieving operational excellence through cost budget / KPIs via management of transport efficiencies, plant / fleet utilisation, maintenance management and labour / subcontracted resources Ensuring staff and contractor H&S and compliance paperwork & training is kept up to date, and Training & coaching of employee and Owner Drivers It's an all-encompassing role and the significance and importance of it should not be underestimated.
