Full Time Application Closes 05 May 2024 Hawkes Bay - Hastings Aerospace Engineering and Operations Technician Spectrum & Sizer Operators are an essential linchpin for our Packhouse operation based at our new Te Ipu site in Irongate Road, Hastings.If you thrive on fast pace and multiple priorities in an ever-changing environment, then this permanent role reporting to the Production Supervisor is for you!This is a key permanent role responsible for operating both our sizer machines and/or Spectrum software to optimise sorting fruit for export and quality standards. The Technician also works with the Packhouse shift leadership team to maximise Packhouse capacity considering quality factors and staff numbers. Your contribution towards continuous improvement of the Spectrum and Sizer software will be encouraged. This role will predominantly be for Nightshift (4.30pm – 2.30am, Sunday night to Friday night) during the packing season (February to October/November) and will move to day shift hours in the off-season.The main responsibilities of this role are:· Operating both Sizer machines and/or the Spectrum and blemish grading software to optimise fruit quality and size· Efficiently running the fruit, from wet room to palletising · Manage the production throughput to the quantity of staff numbers, fruit quality and market packing processes· Directing and guiding other staff members on relevant standard operating procedures· Ensure compliance with health and safety, quality, and food safety standardsSkills and Experience· Experience in Spectrum Software / Sizer operation or similar technical software preferred· Experience in a food production or manufacturing environment · Excellent accuracy and attention to detail· Competent proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite · Excellent verbal communication skills, team player and innovative attributesBenefits· Competitive pay rates & Nightshift allowance· Health Insurance· Our company is small enough to get to know the team· Opportunities to grow and develop with our rapidly growing businessAbout RockitWe're a New Zealand company taking the nutritious goodness of our unique miniature apples to the world.
