Job Description:
Based out of or Head office in Mount Maunganui, this is a working Site Supervisor 'on the tool's' role within Bridge It NZ.
This role will involve leading a small team of 3-4 to carry out installation of bridges in a range of locations – from forestry and farming through to cycleways, including managing sub-contractors while overseeing the installation of bridge structures, foundations and piling work.
The role is generally Monday to Friday and is predominantly based on various sites throughout the North Island. It is best suited to an individual who is flexible in their home situation, where working away during the week is not an issue.
Responsibilities: Proficiently setting up laser level for abutments.Reading, interpreting, and implementing civil plans.Building in-situ formwork, reinforcing steel and compiling concrete.Constructing retaining walls, managing auguring and driving pile work.Ensuring the correct implementation of H & S on site and compliance with all Company policies and procedures.About you
Professional
Qualified trade and/or tertiary qualification or higher in Carpentry or Civil ConstructionCurrent Site Safe CertificateCurrent First Aid CertificateFull and clean New Zealand drivers' licenceClass 4/5 licence W,T,R is highly desirableH & S qualification and experience with Work Act 2015 is desirables.PersonalWell presented, and good communication skillsCommitment to professional developmentCommunicate effectively and relate with a wide range of people.Energetic, willing and 'can-do' attitudeExcellent quality, attention to detail and organisational skillsCommitment to the process of continuous improvementPractice
Proven and consistent experience in a similar environment with 3-5 years' experienceExperience in the working with teams, contractors, suppliers and industry contacts.Has acquired a varied practical skill set, with proven skills in carpentry, concrete work, earthworks or bridge works.Has a sound understanding of the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015, of its application, and experience of implementing this in the workplaceHas proven experience in competently and safely operating heavy machinery (holding current and appropriate licence(s) as required)Why Join Bridge It NZ?
