We're looking for a candidate to this position in an exciting company.

Manage up to 150 container terminal operational staff on shift, allocating staff to task and ensuring all staff are briefed on safety and operational matters prior to commencing operations
Communicate context, purpose and organisational goals to staff and translate strategy into plans and actions for direct reports.
Reference the vision and values during planning and decision making and ensure policies, processes and practices help to foster a culture consistent with the Port values.
In conjunction with own manager, set objectives for the team including targets, budgets and challenges, and allocate responsibility for meeting objectives among own team, delegating where appropriate.
Develop relationships with peers across team and business unit boundaries and develop and maintain an understanding of how own team and other teams collectively contribute to achieve outcomes.
Liaise as appropriate with personnel in other teams (e.g. Production Manager, Control & Planning, Engineering, Customer Services, Marine and Contractors), to ensure operational processes are optimised and SOPs followed when impacted by unplanned factors such as equipment breakdowns, weather events, incidents, etc

Previous leadership experience or demonstrated leadership potential across a large operational workforce, ideally within a port operations environment
Proven leadership in Health and Safety ensuring safety equipment is used correctly in conjunction with SOP's and they are maintained to a high standard.
proven ability to communicate at all organisational levels
