The Position
Due to an internal promotion, an exciting leadership opportunity has become available for aService Manager - General,who has a genuine interest in supporting those whom live with an intellectual disability, and are able to build strong relationships with service users, their families and staff to support the delivery of a safe and high-quality service.
Reporting to the Area Manager, you will manage the day-to-day running of allocated services (whether residential, vocational, or Supported Living), provide guidance and support to staff, as well as positively and proactively participating in the communities of practice within the Wairarapa area.

This position will be offered on a Permanent Full-Time basis, working 80 hours per fortnight.
The Requirements
Experience working positively with people who have an intellectual disability, and achieving defined outcomes.
A relevant tertiary qualification.
Minimum Level 5 leadership qualification, or a willingness to work towards.
Knowledge and understanding of the causes of intellectual disability, and the implications for the mental and physical health of the person.
Understanding of the principles of person-centred support, and ability to demonstrate these principles in practice.
The ability to develop comprehensive support and teaching plans.
Ability to build and manage a successful team.
Previous experience and competence in managing budgets.
Demonstrated experience and ability to work within a changing environment, and able to present new ways of working (best practice).
Full Drivers Licence.
