How this position will Make the Difference to City of Melbourne
As a Service Designer in our team, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of a variety of new and challenging service transformation and innovation projects in CityLab.
You will apply your human-centred and service design expertise and be hands on in leading and facilitating the planning and delivery of design research, insight synthesis, ideation, prototyping and final output production.
Your innate curiosity and comfort with ambiguity will lead to your success, as well as your proven capability in project delivery and stakeholder engagement whilst operating in an agile environment.
You will be exposed to a diverse range of services delivered by Council and learn about how Melbourne is becoming a smart city by collaborating with other teams in the Smart City Office.
You will also be supported to develop your service design skills across all stages of project delivery. If you are starting out or considering a career change, show us how your diverse skills and experience will help strengthen the role.

You can bring (Selection criteria)
Ability to demonstrate and display City of Melbourne Values accountability, integrity, courage, respect for self and others, and striving for excellence.
Design expertise, including demonstrated experience delivering human-centred / service design work across a range of sectors and organisations.
An action-oriented approach and ability to create a safe space to explore new ideas that respects diverse perspectives.
Demonstrated experience using agile delivery methods to deliver projects, including the design of a project brief, use of visual management boards, and coordinating project reporting and evaluation.
Strong oral communication and high-level written skills (including report writing, presentation, and negotiation skills) and the ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of stakeholders.

Desirable
Hands on experience using visual design and prototyping tools, including Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Invision.
