Auckland City, AucklandPURPOSE OF POSITIONTo run an efficient operation to complete projects to Reveal standards, assigning tasks, and ensuring that services and utilities are surveyed/located accurately, minimising risk to Clients, completing work and tasks safely, on time and within budget. Liaises with clients, suppliers, contractors, sub-contractors and the public as required. LOCATION(S)Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington, Christchurch regions KEY ACCOUNTABILITIESSpecific position requirementsBe responsible for ensuring that Utility Surveyor related field services and activities are conducted in a professional and safe mannerKeep all plant, equipment, vehicles and PPE gear clean and well maintained, calibration and checking of instruments where requiredImplement processes and procedures to maximise performance at optimal cost and improved service delivery quality, championing continuous improvement methodologiesDevelopment and maintenance of Standard Operational Procedures (SOP) and methods of implementing any new process control procedures, as agreed by the Reporting ManagerWorking closely with Management on new projects, equipment selection and trials and improvements in field deployment and best practice processesCollaboration on trouble shooting and repairs of faults/failure of equipment or machinery in the fieldHealth and Safety/Quality Assurance and Environment - Able to manage and direct site safety and in accordance with H&S policy, including how to deal with emergency procedures on site. Operates in accordance with the Company’s H&S, QA and Environmental policies; ensures that all staff operate to those same standards; completes all required documentation on site as directed in the polices; reports all near misses, incidents, accidents and hazards; participates fully in tool box meetings and staff H&S meetings; ensures all visitors to the site sign in and are advised of hazards; complies with all applicable legislations, regulations and best practice guidelines, including SOP’sManage and/or supervise sub-contractors and project engineering staff, including all aspects of on-site H&S and quality management. General DutiesCommunicate effectively and positively with all internal staff and external contactsTake responsibility for positive interactions and relationships with clients, contractors, sub-contractors and suppliers (if applicable)Structure written documents and processes concisely and effectivelyImplement decisions within agreed timeframesIdentify and action health and safety concernsAny other tasks directed by your Reporting Manager as time permits. WORK EXPERIENCEMinimum of 10+ years of engineering experience. Specialist technical in project management, operations, asset maintenance and construction, design and development standardsLead subsurface infrastructure multiple service delivery lines and associated processes/proceduresLeading both individually and teams in a service line environmentPossess strong interpersonal, communication and relationship management skills.Role Specific Skills / Experience / CompetenciesDetailed knowledge of subsurface industry and technology, all service lines with leadership role in a service line(s) and solve subsurface infrastructure challengesProven demonstrated ability to relate, interact and positively influence people to forge strong relationships in industry events, client engagement and project team situationsAbility to create, deliver and manage WBS task breakdown and identify manage/mitigate project risks. Educational/Industry QualificationsRelevant science or engineering degree, Chartered Status (Institute of Professional Engineers NZ) preferably with post graduate engineering degree.
