Located in Otautahi | Christchurch, Aotearoa | New Zealand Full-time position at 37.5 hours per week (1.0 FTE)Au Mahi | What You Will Do This role is for a Senior UI Software developer with experience in owning and developing an Angular frontend. It requires a champion and subject matter expert for all aspects of frontend development, from architecture best practices to design, testing, delivery, and maintenance. This is a key delivery role, providing linkage between architecture, UI design, and delivery. Behaviours expected from you will be: Takes technical responsibility across all stages and iterations of software development.Designs complex software applications, components and modules.Leads reviews of others' designs.Designs, verifies, documents, amends and refactors complex software configurations for deployment. Provides technical expertise to enable the configuration of system components and equipment for systems testing. Investigates problems in systems, processes and services. Interprets and follows visual design and branding guidelines to create a consistent and impactful user experience.Translates high-level solution architectures into detailed solution designs that can be used by build teams to implement solutions.Provides input to delivery and planning activities such as project and sprint planning, and delivery estimation.Mentors junior team members in frontend development.You have significant commercial software development experience, with at least 7 years in web frontend development. You will have a history of delivering frontend solutions built in a recent version of Angular. You will have been a subject matter expert for aspects of frontend development in previous roles, with experience in acting as a mentor to junior team members and a stakeholder for UI development interests to the rest of the organisation. You will be experienced in integrating with web services, APIs, and 3rd party libraries, and have a good working knowledge of git and CI/CD pipelines. You will have experience in working with UX designers and using modern design tools like a design system. You will be able to champion UI related aspects like accessibility, responsive design, or i18n inside the development team. You will have a good understanding of UI design methodologies, enabling you to be the key integration point between UX designers and the software development team. We work collaboratively as a team, so you will need great written and verbal communication skills, with an understanding of agile ways of working. You will need to support the team by sharing your skills and experience, mentoring, and be prepared to learn from the team as well.
