Our Tier 1 Legal 500 ranked national employment team is looking for a senior solicitor or senior associate. This is a rare opportunity to join the largest team of employment specialists in New Zealand and the only team that operates seamlessly across its Wellington and Auckland offices. Based in our Auckland Office, you will be a trusted adviser to employers predominantly in the private sector (not only in New Zealand but also overseas) as well as in the public sector. You will need to have strong advocacy skills, bring a practical and commercial approach, thrive on problem-solving, and have a friendly professional style.
We partner with our clients to support throughout the employment lifecycle, so you will be involved in the full breadth of employment law issues including contentious and non-contentious matters. Work scope will include:
supporting clients on core employment-law process, such as performance improvement, workplace investigations, restructuring and redundancy, and disciplinary processespreparing key documents for clients, including workplace policies, employment agreements, and contractor arrangementsadvising on the protection of proprietary information, including enforcing restraints of trade through urgent applications and/or injunctive actionadvising on, and representing clients in respect of personal grievances, breach of contract claims, and disputesadvising clients on industrial relations matters, and collective bargainingworking with clients on employee remuneration and incentive schemesadvising on the application of the Health and Safety at Work Actsupporting corporate clients and High Net Worth individuals on immigration and visa applicationspreparing employee privacy policies and advising on the application of the Privacy Act 2020 in the employment context (including personal information requests)supporting other divisions within the firm on employee/contractor related matters, including support corporate transactions and regulated employee remuneration,Appearing as counsel in mediations and before the Employment Relations Authority, the Employment Court and the appellate courts.Our team is friendly, approachable, and supportive and provides an excellent environment to continue learning and growing your career.
