The Role + Opportunity
Our team, Identity and Licensing, serve both external customers and internal business functions. We support, maintain and develop solutions on a variety of technologies running in Microsoft and Amazon cloud environments. The team is focused on service availability, reliability and security.
We are currently seeking a senior software developer to join our team. The role includes the on-going development and integration of scalable, highly available, cloud-based identity and licensing systems, customer relationship management system, financial management system, customer facing web applications and e-commerce systems.
The successful candidate will work in a cross functional team on design, development, deployment, maintenance, and support of a variety of business systems. This will encompass design, testing, deployment, and operational support.
Requirements
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Work closely with peers and technology partners in a highly collaborative environment
Design, develop, test, deploy, monitor, and support web applications and integrations between business systems
Own the customer outcome and support developed solutions long term
Utilise a range of technologies across a varied set of systems with a ‘best tool for the job’ mindset
Provide critical feedback and contribute to quality through code reviews.
In order to be successful in this role, you should have:
A Computer Science degree or similar experience
Significant professional experience in dynamic languages (at least one of Python, Javascript, or Ruby)
Experience being an advocate for and practitioner of automated testing and/or test-driven development
Significant professional experience in object-oriented software development (at least one of Java, C#, or C++)
Web application development, both web API backend and frontend development
Experience designing, deploying, monitoring, and supporting applications in cloud service providers (at least one of Azure or AWS)
Confidence in developing, maintaining, and optimising relational database applications
Worked in Linux and Windows comfortably.
Knowledge of the following technologies would also be advantageous:
NoSQL databases
ETL
Frontend frameworks e.g. React, Ember
Infrastructure as code tools e.g. Ansible, CloudFormation, Terraform
CI / CD pipelines and their benefits
Monitoring and alerting solutions for cloud and distributed systems.
