Our Opportunity: Be part of New Zealand's renewable energy future as part of the Mercury Hydro rehabilitation Team focusing on the upgrades of key generation assets on the Waikato River. As Senior Site Project Manager, you'll play a pivotal role leading these significant infrastructure upgrade projects. We are looking for an experienced Project Manager with experience in managing sites and contractors to hit the ground running and you will play an important role and contribute towards the achievement of Mercury's future while working on large iconic pieces of critical infrastructure on the Waikato river in a varied and challenging role.This hybrid role is located in Hamilton, near our hydro assets. We offer a flexible working environment that allows you the freedom and trust to work from either our purpose-built premises or from home, with flexible working hours. Key responsibilities include : Ownership and leadership of the site execution of the projects to deliver these large technically diverse projectsStrong customer service and relationship focus both internal and externalEffective management of multi-disciplinary project teams, Engineering, Financial, contractors and other resourcesDeliver projects to defined environmental, health and safety requirementsFocus on Financial, Quality and Timely performance of assigned projectsProvide innovative and effective solutions to challenges We are looking for:Demonstrated Project Management and project site experience applicable experience in similar applicable industriesExperience in heavy engineering which includes project engineering and project management of technical projectsAn engineering or project management qualificationHighly developed leadership qualities and the proven ability to work with a wide range of people to achieve positive results in project managementExcellent written and communication skills, as is solid experience in instigating and delivering projects both effectively and efficientlyExperience with hydroelectric plant or/and Geothermal Plant or similar plant, good computer literacy in MS Office and project management tools will be a definite advantage Mercury offers (full benefits are listed on our Career Page):Additional 5 days leave per annum (MyDays)$400 one off tax-free payment towards setting up your home officeA diverse workplace where your unique abilities and talents will be recognised and encouragedAnnual salary reviews with excellent parental leave policy, with the option to purchase additional leaveThe opportunities, career paths and facilities associated with working for one of New Zealand's largest multi-utility providersDiscounted health insurance and free life and income insuranceExcellent well-being programme including up to $100 annual check ups and confidential assistance programmeGender affirmation leave and supportive bereavement leave to be taken when you lose anyone close to you, including your petMercury is a learning organisation that is committed to providing you with opportunities to grow and develop that will benefit you now and in the future.
