Senior Risk Advisor at Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand Capital, Coast & Hutt Valley, Wellington Hospital Nau mai, haere mai ki Te Whatu Ora - Capital, Coast & Hutt Valley District Location: 3 hospital sites within Capital, Coast & Hutt Valley (CCHV) District (Wellington Regional, Kenepuru and Hutt Valley Hospital)

Contract: 6 month Fixed Term Contract, full-time
The Senior Risk Advisor is a member of the Clinical Governance team and works in close collaboration with the Hospital Specialist Service (HSS) groups and services at Wellington, Kenepuru and Hutt hospitals.
In this role you will be accountable for supporting the administration and oversight of the risk management programme on a day-to-day basis across the CCHV district.
The primary purpose of the Senior Risk Advisor is to:
Provide a high quality risk management service at CCHV. This will involve providing advice, training, guidance and practical activities such as risk assessments and risk reports to committeesMaintain and develop effective risk management initiatives, systems and practices to ensure that CCHV meets the AS/NZS ISO 31000:2018 Risk Management Standards.Provide information, enable analysis to learn how to actively eliminate or minimise risk.Assist senior leaders to ensure that all areas of the organisation understand, own and are accountable for these risk systems that are fully embedded in operational practice.Advocate and sponsor risk control and prevention strategies that will integrate risk management into every day managementDevelop and deliver a risk management training programmeWork in partnership with teams across Kenepuru, Wellington and Hutt Valley hospitals.The Centre of Clinical Excellence supports the CCHV district to become a learning, pro-equity organisation where innovation and quality improvement is embedded in the practice of all staff. The centre will contribute to improved health outcomes for all our patients by raising the visibility of quality and safety, strengthening clinical governance and developing practices to transform the district.

We are looking for someone who has comprehensive knowledge and experience of risk assessment and risk management. You will bring excellent interpersonal and networking skills and have a passion for using risk management to help improve outcomes for our patients and the wider community. A risk maagement/governance qualification or equivalent experience is desirable, alongisde experience of deisgning training programmes. Experience in the health sector would be advantageous but is not essential.
On top of this, we are looking for the following skills and experience:
