Senior Researcher Analyst, Research Services Waitangi Tribunal Unit, WellingtonMinistry of Justice The Waitangi Tribunal inquires into historical and contemporary Treaty claims through a broad range of inquiry programmes and processes.Te Haeata / The OpportunityWe are looking for a hardworking, talented, and experienced researcher to join us as a Senior Researcher / Analyst in the Research Services team within the Waitangi Tribunal Unit.This senior position offers you the chance to take a significant role in the Unit's stimulating, wide-ranging, and multi-disciplinary research projects.We are looking for an experienced person who already has impressive writing and analysis skills, and a proven ability to accurately scope projects and meet deadlines.You will further enhance your reputation for high-quality analysis and research and provide leadership and mentoring for our talented Research Services team.You will have the :Ability to mentor and coach team members to lift their capability and performanceExpertise in providing advice to a range of internal and external stakeholdersHigh quality research, writing, analysis, and communication skills to engage with a range of key stakeholders O pukenga / Skills and ExperienceTo be successful in the role you will be :Qualified, preferably to master's degree level, in disciplines relevant to the work of the Waitangi Tribunal such as history, law, public policy, Maori studies, and social science;or have equivalent research-based professional experience;Methodical and objective in your approach, have a strong track record of professional achievement, and a proven ability to lead large writing projects involving multiple stakeholders;An effective communicator with a strong focus on customer service, able to inspire and build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders;Knowledge of and commitment to the work of the Waitangi Tribunal;Knowledge of te reo and tikanga Maori and a commitment to further develop such knowledge.
