About the role: The New Dunedin Hospital (NDH) will be a modern, efficient and patient-centred teaching hospital. It will be built in two stages – firstly, an Outpatient Building to open in 2026 followed by an Inpatient Building to open in 2029. Strengthening primary and community services in the region is a key enabler of a fit-for-purpose New Dunedin Hospital and a more integrated patient experience across primary, community and secondary services, particularly in the context of our ageing population, our rurality, and need for equitable health outcomes. The purpose of the Senior Project Manager Primary and Community Services for the New Dunedin Hospital is to drive the establishment and initial operation of a project to strengthen primary and community services as this key enabler. The role will be employed by and hosted in WellSouth, reporting to project governance that includes WellSouth and Health New Zealand Te Whatu Ora (Health NZ). What we are looking for: At least eight years' experience in a project management capacity, including all aspects of process development and execution. Experience in health management and/or policy, ideally across primary, community and secondary care. Success in establishing and completing projects. Good knowledge of and experience working with Southern health system stakeholders. Success in writing business cases that include clear, measurable outputs and benefits. Ability to bring projects to successful completion. Adept at conducting research into project-related issues and products.
