Wellington office location, with flexible work options availableCompetitive salary package negotiable based on experienceGet exposure to varied project deliverablesWe are looking for a Senior Hydraulic Engineer responsible for establishing a strong market presence and client following. You will be responsible for business processes and delivery as defined by NDYs business framework and performance objectives. This key role is responsible for managing stakeholders and clients concerned with project delivery and to manage team resources to deliver on projects.You will be expected to:Design and document systems through concept, design development and detailed documentation phasesAct as Project Leader on assigned projects responsible for the firm's overall involvement on the project and the administration of design interface between disciplines. Ensure all NDY activities and designs are fully coordinated with all projects implemented in line with NDY's Project Management methodology. This may require the nomination of project engineers and reviewers for projects where appropriate. Disciplines may include: Communications, Security, Lifts, Mechanical, Electrical, Fire Protection, Hydraulics, NDY Light, ESD, Fire Engineering and AcousticsReview technical submissions by Contractors and Sub-Contractors and the quality of construction against the specified requirementsUndertake Construction Administration on projects, designed by NDYEnsure NDY's IMS System is implemented and maintained on projects, which may require quality assurance reviews for peer projectsProactively identifies, develops and promotes ways to improve operating capabilityManage NDY's involvement in projects so that work is completed efficiently whilst meeting client needsIdentify and engage clients and key stakeholders, ensuring that expectations are known, managed and fulfilled, within program and project constraints. Liaise with Contractors and Sub-Contractors to address construction-related documentation issuesParticipate and represent NDY in internal and external meetings as appropriate to discuss client issues, proposals, new opportunities, and marketing strategiesAttend site meetings as appropriate and report on the status of the work and any items of concernEnsure clients' requirements, deliverables and level of documentation is clearly defined with sufficient pre-notification.Attributes Ideally you must:Have a minimum 5 years engineering experience across the full project lifecycle and responsibility for delivering projectsHave a demonstrated ability to effectively communicate information of a complex nature both verbally and in writing with all stakeholders across multiple disciplines including colleagues and clientsHave the ability to exercise well-developed problem solving skills and use substantial initiative and judgement to work independently to meet objectivesHave well-developed problem solving skillsBe politically astute with team members and clientsHave the capability to consistently produce accurate work without errorsHave reason and willingness to accept and implement constructive feedback.You offer:You will use your experience and technical ability to manage delivery of hydraulic designs within single and multi-discipline projects. Complete engineering analysis and design of Hydraulic Systems as well as liaise with clients, contractors, and other project stakeholders. You will apply the latest technologies to our ever-expanding workload of building services. You will verify design work carried out in the business and provide mentoring, coaching, and training to less experienced engineers and project co-ordinators.As a confident communicator who is articulate and confident in developing new and existing relationships, you will be working with like-minded individuals who are flexible in their approach to challenges, motivated and share the ability to think laterally in delivering smart technical solutions to our clients.Training & Development NDY has a strong focus on the development of our staff and training will be a key element of this development whether on internal or external training courses.
