Accounting for all projects, and related billings, can be complex and voluminous .The Senior Project Accountant will manage the largest and most complex accounts as well as train and mentor less experienced staff . This is a critical role and compensation will be generous .Key Things to Note:This is a remote position . Client is targeting candidates from East or Central time zones.Invoices for services are exceedingly complex, some involving 100s of pages . Seek candidate with deep expertise in billing for professional services, ideally engineering, construction, architecture or other similar industries.Monthly billing will be approximately $2.5 million dollars for this position alone, high volume billing experience will be needed.This is a highly interactive role. The Accounting Staff will regularly work with the Project Teams to verify billing data, resolve discrepancies, monitor progress, etc. Seek candidate whose analytical and organizational skills are complemented by strong communication and collaboration skills.The firm uses Deltek Vantagepoint software and related experience will be important.Selected Duties:Train and guide members of the Project Accounting teamManage the Project Opening processes to ensure all projects are opened accurately and timelyPrepare and send accurate invoices in a timely matter using client-specific formattingTroubleshoot billing issues; handle escalated issues as neededEngage Project Managers/Teams on complex or sensitive mattersCoordinate with Subconsultants to ensure their invoices are accurate and meet clients' requirementsReview Accounts Receivable and assist in collection efforts.Assist Project Managers and Project Accounting staff with any Deltek, client billing or project set up issuesTargeted candidate will offer a related financial degree and 5+ years of Project Accounting and Billing experience including some experience supervising or training others.
