Are you wanting to help shape the Far North District and find solutions to key challenges and opportunities that the district needs to plan for?We are looking for Senior Policy Planners to work on and lead the development of the Proposed District Plan. We have completed our further submissions stage and are ready to move onto report writing, for the 2024 hearings. This opportunity will give you an amazing experience leading a range of resource management topics through hearings and the environment court plan making stages. This will give you a one in a lifetime planning opportunity.Last year we notified a fully reviewed District Plan, receiving over 8,500 submission points. This is the first time the District Plan has been reviewed in its entirety since the operative Plan was notified in 2000. It is anticipated that hearings will take place over a 15-18-month period starting in May 2024.At times you will also be required to brief senior management and elected representatives on key District Plan and RMA reform issues as it relates to your work.We will consider both part and full-time roles for the right candidate/s.Be quick, as we will review applications as they come through!You will be experienced in:writing and presenting expert evidence, RMA hearings, and mediation processesanalsysing submissions, undertaking the required research and writing officer reports for the hearings panelworking collaboratively and in partnership with our tangta whenua partners.creating constructive working relationships with our key stakeholders, central and local government, business, and community-based organisations.Flexible in terms of hours, location and working arrangements - chat to us!Far North District Council is a progressive and growing Council filled with like-minded people who love what they do and are committed to providing superior services to residents in their community.You will also be given all the tools of the trade to hit the ground runningLearning & Development plan to ensure your ongoing growth and success within the organisationThe salary for this position is Grade 18 within Council's salary structure (Band: $96,643 - $113,697 per annum) dependent on qualifications and experience, plus Kiwi SaverWe offer hybrid working, flexible work arrangementFree $100,000 life insurance scheme (conditions apply)Free Will package, so that if the unexpected happens your family is supported.Creating Great Places, Supporting our PeopleReport this job advert Don't provide your bank or credit card details when applying for jobs.#J-18808-Ljbffr
